I know you’re probably wondering if you’ll miss out on the fun because of your pregnancy, but trust me, there’s so much to do, and I’ve got all the tips to help you enjoy your visit while staying comfortable and safe. Let’s dive into all the pregnancy-friendly experiences that Universal Orlando has to offer, from rides to shows and everything in between! We travelled to Universal Orlando with our pregnant friend, so we know how to plan an amazing trip that keeps you safe while still having a great time!
Pregnancy-Safe Rides at Universal

Okay, first things first—you might be wondering which rides are safe for you while pregnant. While some of the big roller coasters and intense simulators are a no-go, there are plenty of other rides that will still let you soak up the fun of Universal Orlando!
Universal’s Islands of Adventure Rides while Pregnant
- One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – A cute and gentle ride that lets you enjoy the sights without any jerky movements.
- Hogwarts Express – Hogsmeade Station – Yes, you can hop on the Hogwarts Express for a smooth ride between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
- Caro-Seuss-el – This is an adorable carousel that’s totally pregnancy-safe.
Universal Studios Rides while Pregnant
- Hogwarts Express – King’s Cross Station – You can enjoy a magical ride on the Hogwarts Express without any bumps, just lots of Harry Potter magic!
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl – A gentle spinning ride that’s easy on the tummy.
- Minion Mayhem – Stationary Seating only – Opt for the stationary seating on this one, and you’ll be able to enjoy the Minions’ antics without any motion worries.
- Villian-Con Minion Blast – A moving sidewalk ride blaster game that doesn’t require intense movement.
Non-Ride Fun during Pregnancy at Universal Orlando
Just because you’re not riding every ride doesn’t mean you’re missing out! There are tons of non-ride activities that are perfect for expectant mothers. So, grab your wand (or belly band) and let’s have some fun!!
Ride Lines or Attraction Tours
Waiting in line doesn’t have to be boring! Take the time to soak in the details, look for hidden easter-eggs located in lines, play Heads Up in line with your family, or just enjoy the cool air-conditioning and put your feet up in child swap rooms.
You might even be able to ask for an Attraction Tour while your party rides the ride. These are available at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
Shows for a Relaxing Break
I’m all about sitting back and enjoying a good show, especially when pregnant! When we travelled with our pregnant friend (she wasn’t pregnant when we booked the trip), we spent a lot of time at all the shows Universal Orlando has to offer. Most shows are at Universal Studios Orlando rather than Islands of Adventure.
Universal Studios has some incredible live shows that will let you relax your feet and take a break from all the walking. Here are my favorites:
- The Bourne Stuntacular: This is an action-packed show that’ll keep you entertained without the motion!
- Horror Makeup Show: A fun, interactive show that lets you learn about movie magic and special effects.
- Animal Actors On Location: Watch adorable animals perform tricks—super relaxing and fun.
If you’re up for something with more energy, check out The Blues Brothers or join the dance party at Vamos! Bailalo—just make sure you’re comfortable if you decide to stand for these high-energy performances.
Character Meet and Greets
One of my favorite things to do at Universal Orlando is meeting the characters, and being pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t join in on this fun! You will find these meet and greets scattered through both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
From getting hounded by Beetlejuice to sharing a laugh with the Minions, these encounters allow you to create lasting memories and capture precious photos. Whether it’s a charming interaction with Spider-Man or a warm embrace from Hello Kitty, the character meet and greets provide a chance to engage with beloved characters from movies, TV shows, and comic books.
It’s a relaxing and magical way to make memories during your visit, even if you can’t join in on all the rides.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
You can’t visit Universal Orlando without experiencing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, right? While some rides may not be suitable during pregnancy, there is still so much to immerse yourself in. You can stroll through the charming streets of Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley or watch captivating live shows like the “Triwizard Spirit Rally“, “Tales of Beedle the Bard“, or “Celestina Warbeck”
Don’t forget to try out the interactive wands that allow you to cast spells and bring the wizarding world to life. Whether you’re indulging in butterbeer or exploring the unique shops, the Wizarding World remains some of my favorite immersive areas in the park. I could spend my time wandering them endlessly, or sitting back and people watching!
Dining Delights
When it comes to eating while pregnant, Universal Orlando has you covered! Whether you’re craving a hearty meal or something lighter, there are plenty of options that are perfect for pregnant bellies. If you’re craving something specific or need allergen-friendly options, you’ll find it here. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to sit down, relax, and refuel for the day ahead.
Shopping and Souvenirs at Universal
Take a leisurely stroll through the shops at Universal Orlando and find the perfect keepsake to remember your trip.
Whether you’re looking for a little something for your baby-to-be or treating yourself, the shopping in Universal Orando is always a fun experience
Plan Another Universal Trip for after the Baby Arrives
Once your little one arrives, you’ll want to plan another trip to Universal Orlando, but this time, with a stroller! You’ll have stroller-friendly paths and plenty of baby care centers for diaper changes. It’ll be a whole new adventure, and you’ll be able to create even more magical memories with your little one.
Or take a trip without your little one, and make some fun memories with just your spouse! My husband and I love grown-up only trips to Universal Orlando, such a different experience!
