What snacks we never bring to Universal Orlando

When planning a trip to Universal Orlando Resort, it’s essential to pack wisely and ensure you have all the necessary essentials. However, there are certain snacks that you should leave behind when visiting the parks. While Universal Orlando welcomes outside food and beverages, there are specific reasons why certain snacks may not be the best choice. In this blog post, we’ll explore the snacks you should avoid bringing to Universal Orlando to make the most of your experience.

Melting Treats

As much as our family loves chocolate, Florida’s warm and humid climate can quickly turn any chocolate treat into a sticky mess. It’s best to avoid bringing snacks that are prone to melting, as you’ll likely end up with a messy and inconvenient situation. Opt for non-melting snacks that can withstand the heat and keep you refreshed throughout the day (fruit snacks, gummy worms, Skittles are our go-tos).

Fragile Snacks

It’s important to avoid bringing fragile snacks that can easily break or crumble during these exhilarating adventures. Opt for snacks that are sturdy and can withstand the excitement without causing a mess. We tried Quest chips for extra protein, and they just crumbled. Now love Cheez-its or Chex Mix as our go-to sturdy snack .

Food Requiring Heating or Refrigeration

While you can bring in small soft-sided insulated bags (smaller than 8.5″ wide x 6″ high x 6″ deep), there are no locations to heat or refrigerate food. It’s important to choose items that won’t spoil quickly. Perishable snacks, such as fresh fruits, may not stay fresh for an extended period, especially in the warm weather of Florida. Choose shelf-stable snacks that can withstand the day without compromising taste or safety.

Glassware

For safety reasons, glassware or glass containers are not allowed inside the parks. Though I like to drink Starbucks Frappuccino’s for breakfast, I drink them before I arrive at the park.

Large Coolers or Bulk Snacks

Universal Orlando allows outside food and beverages in reasonable quantities for personal consumption. However, bringing large soft-sided coolers larger than 8.5″ wide x 6″ high x 6″ deep, hard coolers of any kind. or excessive amounts of snacks are not allowed. Opt for smaller, easily manageable snack portions that can be conveniently carried throughout the day.
