Bend the Bao

Bend the Bao – City Walk

As our magical adventure at Universal Orlando came to an end, I stumbled upon the perfect finale to our trip. Usually we grab a late lunch on Sunday at a fast food joint in City Walk before my family and I begin the long drive back to Atlanta. However, this time, something caught my eye—the usually busy shop, Bend the Bao. With no queue in sight, I couldn’t resist giving it a try.

I decided to try two bao, opting for the Kimchee Fried Chicken and Pork Belly bao. As I snuck a bite while waiting for our food from Moes, I was blown away. These bao were so tasty that I quickly returned to Bend the Bao for three more, this time including the Beef Brisket option. Bend the Bao has now become my go-to last meal at Universal Orlando.

What’s even more convenient is that Bend the Bao offers mobile ordering through their app, making it a breeze to satisfy your cravings. So, on your next visit, don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in these delightful bao creations and experience a culinary journey that will leave you craving for more!

Today Cafe – Universal Studios

For years, our annual Passholder friend had been raving about the Today Cafe at Universal Orlando. However, considering its reputation for less kid-friendly fare, my family and I had always opted for other dining spots. But this time, we decided to take the leap and give it a try. And boy, were we in for a treat!

The Today Cafe at Universal Studios Orlando is a delightful culinary haven that combines the charm of a neighborhood coffee shop with the energy of a bustling theme park. Step inside and be greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the tantalizing sight of a mouthwatering display of pastries. This modern and stylish cafe is inspired by the iconic Today Show, infusing the atmosphere with a vibrant and contemporary vibe. From artisanal sandwiches and salads to delectable baked goods and specialty beverages, The Today Cafe offers a diverse menu that caters to every palate. Savor a rich cup of coffee while indulging in a freshly baked croissant, or opt for a hearty lunch with one of their signature sandwiches. With its friendly staff, cozy seating, and delectable offerings, The Today Cafe is the perfect spot to recharge and refuel during your Universal Studios adventure.

Our order showcased the diverse range of offerings at the Today Cafe. I indulged in the Smoked Salmon Lox Bagel, savoring every bite of its fresh and delightful flavors and side of fruit. Meanwhile, my husband opted for The Bulls & The Bears Platter, my mom chose The Wise Guy Platter, and my brother and sister-in-law both savored the 30 Rock Midtowner Platter. My sister-in-law felt her dish could have used a more aioli sauce, but overall, everyone agreed that the food was fantastic.

To add to the experience, I was able to order a glass of wine in a fancy plastic wine glass, allowing me to stroll through the park while sipping on a little luxury.

We opted to order through the app, making use of our annual pass discount. Although the wait was a bit longer, it was worth it. As we wrapped up our meal, we couldn’t help but notice the tantalizing display of beautiful pastries adorning the Today Cafe. It became clear that we must return to indulge in these tempting treats in the future. And according to my friend, we simply cannot miss out on trying their breakfast offerings. Guess we’ll have to go back…

Indulge in an unforgettable dining experience at Mama Della’s, a charming Italian trattoria nestled within the Portofino Bay resort.
