September 1st marks the day students board the Hogwarts Express at Kings Cross Station to head back to the magical halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. What better place to celebrate than at Universal Orlando, where the Wizarding World comes alive? Here’s how we would make the most of this enchanting day:
Double Feature at CityWalk:
Kick off the day with a magical movie marathon at CityWalk’s Cinemarc Theater. Enjoy a double feature of the final two Harry Potter films – a perfect way to immerse yourself in the wizarding world’s adventures.
Casual Cosplay as you Return to Hogwarts
Dress the part by donning your favorite wizarding attire. Whether you’re a Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw, wear your house colors with pride. Don’t forget to accessorize with wands and scarves!
While cosplay is encouraged, please be mindful of Universal Orlando’s policies. If you’re asked to take photos with other guests, kindly inform them that you’re not a Universal employee. Avoid encouraging guests to take photos with you to ensure a smooth and respectful experience for everyone.

Connect with fellow fans and join the “Weasleys Whimsical World of Harry Potter” meetup. Share your love for the series, discuss favorite moments, and make new magical friends. Find out more about the event here.
Schedule of Enchanted Activities
- Platform 9 3/4 Meetup: 10:30 AM Gather at Platform 9 3/4 in Kings Cross Station to kick off the day’s magical journey. Since they anticipate a large group boarding the Hogwarts Express, arriving on time is crucial for a seamless departure.
- Hogwarts Group Photo: 11:45 AM Join the group on the bridge in front of the majestic Hogwarts Castle for a captivating group photo. This extended photo session allows everyone to participate, ensuring a fantastic shot that captures the magic of the moment.
Anything from the Trolley, Dears?
Indulge in wizarding world-inspired treats. Head to the Leaky Cauldron or Three Broomsticks for a butterbeer, enjoy Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, and savor other enchanting treats available throughout the parks.
Explore the Wizarding World
Embark on a journey through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Visit Diagon Alley, marvel at the majestic Hogwarts Castle, and explore Hogsmeade village. Remember you will need a park-to-park pass or an annual pass to ride the Hogwarts Express and visit both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade on your return to Hogwarts.
Don’t miss the immersive rides like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Escape from Gringotts and Flight of the Hippogriff.
Don’t forget to grab your wand before you embark on your magical journey!
Capture Magical Moments
Snap photos at iconic locations like Platform 9¾ and the Knight Bus. Create lasting memories with your fellow Potterheads against the backdrop of this enchanting world. And definitively take a picture with the Dragon over Gringotts!
Nighttime Lights Show on Hogwarts
As the sun sets, enjoy a spectacular display of Nighttime light show and fireworks over Hogwarts Castle. It’s a fitting end to a day filled with magic and camaraderie. This is seasonal and not always available.
Magical Shopping
Take a piece of the wizarding world home with you. Explore the shops for wands, robes, house merchandise, and other memorabilia. Make sure you make it down Knockturn Alley to collect some dark merchandise! Don’t forget to send it to the front of the park so you don’t have to carry it around all day!
Extend the Magic
Consider spending the night at one of Universal Orlando’s on-site hotels. This allows you to take advantage of Early Park Admission and enjoy even more time in the Wizarding World in each park!
