Pinspiration Day 18 – Stephanie

I have already waxed poetic about my love of colored pants this month.  But I am going to reiterate my affections today.  Colored skinny trousers are awesome.  The End.

In my opinion, one of the easiest ways to add visual interest to an outfit is with color.  What is great about color trends right now is things don’t necessarily have to match, they just have to go (see my pink and red combo yesterday) without having to worry about breaking things up with neutrals.  Blue and green are actually two colors I have never mixed together; I normally wear these hunter green pants with yellow actually. 

This Pinspiration was a bit too casual for work.  I usually can get away with jeans any day of the week, but we have a department wide meeting today that I need to look professional for.  I switched out the colored jeans for colored trousers, and as I don’t own a blue top with a print, I went for a solid blue sweater.  My legs looked stumpy in flats so I switched in my favorite black pumps.  The chunky pearl necklace uped the ‘for work’ factor too.

I think this outfit is top 5 for me during Pinspiration month.  I went outside of my box, am still really comfortable, and on trend.  I think after this month is over I am going to look out for an ox blood top (the trendy color du jour right) and mix it with these pants too.  I also really need to keep an eye out for graphic print tops that I like.
