Is Orlando Busy on Father’s Day?

So you want to celebrate Father’s Day in Orlando with your family. Should you go to Orlando on Father’s Day?

Father’s Day is generally a popular time for families to visit Orlando, especially theme parks like Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. These attractions often see increased crowds during holiday weekends, including Father’s Day. It’s advisable to expect moderate to high levels of attendance and plan accordingly to make the most of your visit. Checking with the specific attractions or consulting their official websites for updates on expected crowd levels can provide more accurate and up-to-date information.

June is generally a busy month in Orlando, Florida. The city experiences a significant influx of tourists due to various factors such as summer vacation for families and favorable weather conditions.

We visited on Father’s Day in 2023 and found the crowd levels to be typical for a Sunday during the summer. Slow in the mornings, but busier as the day went on. The heat and the humidity were extreme and we left the park early to visit a resort pool rather than brave the crowds.

Several factors contribute to the increased crowds during June:

Orlando’s weather in June is typically warm and pleasant, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities and attractions. The comfortable temperatures and abundant sunshine make it a popular destination for travelers seeking a summer getaway.

Due to the higher number of visitors, you can expect larger crowds at popular attractions, longer wait times for rides, and increased traffic in and around Orlando. It is advisable to plan your activities and make reservations in advance, especially for popular theme parks like Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience.

Additionally, consider utilizing strategies like arriving early, using FastPass or Express Pass options, and checking the parks’ websites for crowd calendars and suggested park visitation strategies. These resources can help you navigate the crowds more efficiently and make the most of your time in Orlando during the busy month of June.

Jurassic Park Jeep in Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando

Are we going anyway?

Why yes we are! Isaac and I are going on a trip dedicated to meeting up with the members of the Jurassic Park Motorpool to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first Jurassic Park movie. As you may or may not know, there is a group dedicated to making screen accurate or screen-inspired versions of the cars used in the Jurassic park movies. This year I was lucky enough to purchase a ’91 YJ Jeep and and am working on slowly updating the Jeep to be screen accurate. We are excited to meet up with the group, get some tips for upgrading our Jeep, be around people as nerdy as us, and visit the 30th Anniversary Tribute Store!! We decided not to take the girls as we expect a busy weekend where we will not ride as many rides as usual and probably will spend a good chunk of our time just hanging around. But we have already planned a trip for August with them and they can’t wait!

We also were lucky enough to get to visit the new Minion Cafe! It was so clever and fantastic!
